Wildcard is gearing up for one of the biggest moments in the organization’s history later this year. After months of competition across multiple qualification circuits, Wildcard has qualified for the Esports World Cup 2026 across three premier titles: Counter-Strike 2, Rocket League, and Rainbow Six Siege. This puts Wildcard in elite company as one of the few esports organizations to send teams to compete in all three titles at the tournament.
Each team qualified for the tournament in its own unique way. For the Counter-Strike 2 team, after a solid spring season where they won the FRAG 20 and BC.Game Masters Championship #2 tournaments, the team earned a direct invite to EWC. From August 19-23rd, the team will compete against 31 of the best teams across the world for a prize pool worth $2 million.
For the Rocket League team, qualification for EWC came down to their very last match. For the first time in Rocket League esports history, there was a RLCS Oceania World Championship Tiebreaker match after Wildcard and PWR finished their season tied for first place. Everything was on the line in the tiebreaker, including crowning the Oceania World Champion and earning a spot at EWC. Wildcard showed up to play and put up an impressive 4-1 performance, defeating PWR and winning the spot at EWC. The Rocket League team will compete in a pool of 16 teams with a $1 million prize pool. The tournament will run August 12-16th.
Similar to the Rocket League program, Wildcard’s Rainbow Six Siege team had to defeat DarkZero esports in a high-stakes regional qualifier earlier this summer. To get the Rainbow Six Siege team to EWC for the first time in program history, the team had to face the reigning BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City champions, DarkZero Esports in a three-map contest. It came down to the final map on Nighthaven Labs with both teams tied at 1-1 each. Ultimately, Wildcard came out on top with a 3-1 victory, clinching a spot at EWC. At the World Championship, Wildcard competes in a pool of 22 with $2 million on the line. The tournament runs from August 4-15.
Representing three titles on the global stage marks a high point in the organization’s history and is a testament to the continued development of championship-level teams. Three teams. Three opportunities. One goal.
