Wildcard Heads to Lyon for RLCS Worlds 2025
Wildcard is set to represent Oceania on Rocket League’s biggest stage as they travel to Lyon, France, for the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) World Championship. The team has been busy prepping during bootcamp at PHG Academy from August 31 – September 9, preparing for Worlds beginning on September 10.
Wildcard has built strong ties with PHG, in part because of shared history with players like bbySharkk who competes on the current Wildcard Rainbow Six team and came through their system. That connection made PHG Academy a natural home base for Worlds prep, giving Wildcard a supportive environment and a chance to train. Reflecting on the Season
Wildcard heads into Lyon with a roster that has carried the OCE banner with pride all season long. Together, Bananahead, Torsos, Fever and Coach Jimmah form the best team OCE has to offer.
Wildcard’s road to Lyon has been defined by consistent excellence. Throughout early 2025, they captured 4 OCE Open titles and remained a dominant force in the region, regularly outpacing their rivals to secure qualification for every international RLCS event this year. The team finished 12-14th at the Birmingham Major in March and 15th-16th at the Raleigh Major in June of this year.
While LAN results have remained a challenge, the team has continued to qualify for every international major proving their dominance at home and their resilience abroad. Now, with Worlds as the ultimate test, the question becomes whether Lyon will be the breakthrough moment that solidifies them not just as OCE’s best, but as true contenders among Rocket League’s global elite.
